A notebook that keeps up.

The best trapping app is the one that keeps up before, during, and after a run — organized around how trappers actually work, with per-state season reminders so the opener never sneaks up on you.

Why Opossum Foot exists

Trappers have kept journals since the fur trade began. Tanner could remember every set as a kid. Coming back to trapping with his boys years later, that memory wasn’t as sharp, so he began logging catches in mapping apps.

As they caught more, that system broke down. He started building Opossum Foot: a logbook simple enough to run on the line with cold hands, with voice at the center. The name comes from a real opossum foot found in a trap.

“Finally, a field log named after someone who understands the assignment.”

Your records stay with you.

  • No social feed. Your trapline is not content.
  • No central account required to keep your field records.
  • Works offline — designed to keep working when the signal drops.
  • Your spots stay on your phone, where they belong.

Questions trappers ask.

When will the app be available?

Opossum Foot is in field testing with our beta crew right now. Follow along on Facebook, YouTube, and right here for updates as we get closer to release.

Will it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes — it is being built for both. The beta runs in your phone’s browser with nothing to install, and the final app will be a download.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your sets, catches, and notes live on your phone, so the app keeps working when the signal drops.

Do I need an account?

No central account is required to keep your field records.

What happens after I apply for the beta?

The beta roster is currently full at 10 testers. Your application goes on the list, and we will reach out if more spots open.

Will it remind me when season opens?

Yes — per-state season reminders are built in, so the opener never sneaks up on you.
